AMD is set to release a high-performance mini PC in June, specifically built for AI developers. The Ryzen AI Halo, powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, will start at $3,999 and is designed to pack workstation-level capabilities into a compact chassis.
The system features Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, 128GB of LPDDR5x-8000 unified memory, and 10 Gbps Ethernet. It supports both Windows and Linux operating systems, catering to a wide range of development environments.
“This is not a typical consumer mini PC. The price point and component choices make it clear AMD is targeting AI professionals who need raw compute power in a small form factor,” said industry analyst Jane Roberts from TechInsights.
Key Specifications
The Ryzen AI Halo measures just a few inches on each side but houses a 16-core, 32-thread processor with a dedicated AI engine. The integrated Radeon 8060S graphics deliver enough performance for local AI inference and model training.
Unified memory of 128GB allows large language models to run without swapping. The 10 Gbps Ethernet port enables rapid data transfer for cluster setups or cloud-edge hybrid workflows.
Background
AMD has been steadily expanding its footprint in the AI hardware market, competing with NVIDIA’s GPU-centric solutions and Intel’s AI-focused processors. The Ryzen AI Halo is part of AMD’s broader strategy to offer integrated AI acceleration on the CPU itself.
Previous AMD mini PCs targeted general consumers, but this model explicitly addresses the needs of developers working with frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow. The company has partnered with software vendors to ensure driver support for popular AI development tools.

For AI developers, this mini PC offers a portable solution that can handle serious workloads. It may reduce the need for costly cloud GPU instances for prototyping and small-scale training. The unified memory architecture eliminates the performance penalty of traditional discrete GPU memory transfers.
Pricing starting at $3,999 positions it as a niche product for professionals rather than enthusiasts. However, the compact size could make it ideal for on-site demonstrations, edge AI deployments, or lab environments where space is limited.
“If AMD delivers on performance claims, this could become a standard tool for AI engineers who need a powerful test bed that fits in a backpack,” added Roberts.
The Ryzen AI Halo is expected to ship in June through AMD’s direct channel and select enterprise resellers. Pre-orders are expected to open later this month.
